| I guess since because at some point they knew me so well, I find myself still learning a lot from my ex-boyfriends.
Surprising? Maybe not.

| Death comes, sometimes quietly and slowly, other times taking everything by storm. Sometimes painful, other times peaceful. Many times announced, many more times unannounced.
As I'm faced with my grandfather's impending passing, I can't help but repeat "memento mori" in my head. As if it'll bring me some sort of comfort.
I love you Grandpa. Thanks for braiding my hair when I was young and teaching me how to play Bingo and ping pong. Thanks for being patient with me as I interviewed you about your rough family history -- about how your father left your mother for a different woman, and about how you chose to join the Army and become an officer to escape it all. You'll always be a dragon to me, never a bug. 總是龍,不是蟲.
I love you.

| Just randomly I decided to see if any of my old domain names are in use by others.
Turns out, quasinerd.com has become some scientific blog and giggl3z.com is still dead.
QUASINERD is a scientific blog now!? Wow.

| There's something wonderfully enchanting about everything Disney that makes me smile. I don't care if the franchise is all too commercial -- I just care about the fact that after every trip to Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure (sans that one rainy day back in 2004) has ended with me walking away with a huge smile on my face.
It might be that I'm absolutely mesmerized by the fireworks. Every time the night sky lights up from pyrotechnics I feel like a little kid -- curious and absolutely carefree. There's something about the 3D cubes and the Mickey Mouse faces sparkling in the distance that gets me gaping with awe.
It might be the cheesy endlessly looped music that plays throughout the parks. Humming "California Dreaming" fifty million times today did not get old...
It might be the many designated "photo op" areas that I've always taken advantage of. Standing in front of Paradise Pier squinting under the hot sun for a priceless picture is always fun. Jumping in front of the Golden Gate Bridge replica and failing to get each jump caught on film was also oddly exciting. I've still yet to get that perfectly timed jumping picture.
Standing in Sunshine Plaza tonight watching Disney's Electrical Parade truly brought out the kid in me, if only for 5 short minutes. I remember standing there, bobbing ever so slightly to the catchy tune being pumped out of every speaker in the park and just staring...staring and smiling and forgetting everything ahead, behind, around.
I love Disney.
Riding "Soarin' Over California" today really made me fall in love all
over again with my wonderful state. I'm ready to move on for now, but
I genuinely hope to come back to Orange County someday. I'm really going to miss this place, aren't I?
PS. Apparently Mike's Google Reader subscription serves as the creepy RSS stalker? PPS. Flight's booked. I leave for NYC on Saturday, June 14th. For good.

| My life is again just a blur...a big/fun/crazy/wild blur.
Judy, Sandra, Shawn, Vicky...what am I ever going to do without you guys?
First post in a month.
BTW, out of curiosity. Who has my Xanga subscribed through RSS feeds? It says a couple of IPs on Xanga's mainframe, so now I'm super curious.
